Thank you all for all your kind words! I have really appriciated all of them! You all seem like very lovely ladies :)

Today is not a good day :(! feeling rather sad and fed up!

In the last week i have developed ichy saw rash type thing all over my exteria joints which has been horrible! the doctors don't think it is the medication, they think its ceriasis but it looks like the treated form. and they say that methotexate is used to treat severe ceriasis which is why it looks treated! however my dad feels differently!

Has anyone experienced this before due to any medication or anything?

I have never had anything like this before. Maybe it is due to underlinning stress im not to sure!

I hope everyone is ok! thank you for listening!

Many thanks and best wishes

Hi Sophie.

I haven't had a rash at all so I can't really help but I know someone who has psoriatic arthritis and he is on mxt. When you say the doctors, do you mean your gp or rheummy drs? If it is your gp you should speak to rheummy about it but if it is the rheummy doctor saying this then maybe it will settle down in time when you get used to the drugs. Good luck

hi

you can be allergic to any drug and ideally you need to be seen by someone who knows what to look for!

PA (Psoriatic Arthritis) is treated by other drugs and treatments as well as MTX as it doesnt suit everyone.

definately ring the rheumatology dept and ask to be spoken to urgently

Sorry to hear Sophie that you have this nasty itchy rash. I had one all round my middle just after starting infliximab and it was pretty unbearable so can understand how rotten you must feel let alone with other things that are going on with the RA. For my problem I now take ant-histamine tablets which calmed it right down.

Like Jenni says, speak to your rheumy doctor as soon as you can to get the matter sorted out.

Hi Sophie

Allergic reactions can be quite common and very painful. It is ALWAYS worth getting anything untoward checked out quickly before any further problems may arise. Is it your GP that you have seen? They are often not fully cognisant with RA and the varied array of drugs we take so always worth contacting rheumatology for their input and advice.

Hope things improve for you very soon; pecker up Sophie, these things are sent to try us!

My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson
